ASYMMETRICAL SILK DRESS: ANATOMY

Anatomy of a dress: color and fabrics take the front stage.
I’ve always been a fan of quiet luxury design houses, where the formula is pretty simple: good, practical design + great fabrication + top-notch finishes, and I’ve been trying to apply this formula to my makes as often as possible. Here’s a breakdown of a simple silk dress I made from a stretch silk charmeuse. It was cut on the straight grain, but if you’d like a closer-to-body drape on the bottom, cut the skirt on the bias and combine it with a top cut on the straight grain.
