Mercer bias skirt 16-30

Bias midi length skirt sewing pattern in US sizes 16-30

Mercer bias skirt is an understated midi-length bias skirt that is a classic slip style that you can dress up or down. It’s cut on a bias for a flattering drape, has an elasticated waist for a flexible fit, and falls to about your mid-calf. Designed to be worn at your natural waist.

This style is designed to be fitted at the waist and slightly loose at the hip. The sample shown here is made from viscose blend crepe on a mannequin that is about 5’5” wearing size 22 sample (form waist is 43.5″/110cm and hip is 50″/127cm). Size up one size if you prefer a looser fit.

This pattern is super versatile and the easiest to make out of bias patterns. You can easily adjust the length, keep it unlined, or add lining to suit your body proportions and preferences by following the notes on the pattern. All seam allowances are included.

Suggested fabrics: medium weight fabrics with very good drape without stretch, such as crepe, charmeuse, satin, and crepe de chine in silk, viscose/rayon, acetate blends as well as synthetic blends.
