Join us for seven days of focused patternmaking, good company, and slow living just outside one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. The Pattern Line Sewing Retreat 2026 is an intentionally small, hands-on experience — 6 to 8 people maximum — designed for sewists who are ready to do real, meaningful work on their craft.
What we’ll be doing
This is a patternmaking retreat focused on developing your own personal blocks — fitted to your body and your proportions. You’ll come with a skirt muslin already drafted (a pre-recorded prep video will be sent to you beforehand), and during the week we’ll fit it together, then move on to a dress block with sleeve and a trouser block. Small group, lots of individual attention, real hands-on progress.
Where we’ll be
We’ll be staying in a charming former family home outside Lisbon — about 35 minutes from the airport. The house has 8 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and a pool. It’s not a hotel or bed and breakfast; think of it as renting out a beautiful home with your sewing friends. Rooms are a mix of double and twin configurations across two floors, each with their own character and pricing.
What’s included
Almost everything — accommodation, breakfast, lunch, and some dinners, a dedicated sewing room, and all materials and tools. Some details are still being finalized, but the dates and the full week of patternmaking content are set.

Ria, our host, has put together her personal list of favorite things to see and do in Lisbon. We highly recommend adding a few extra days before or after the retreat to explore this stunning city — you won’t regret it.

How to Reserve Your Spot
A $500 deposit is required to hold your room, with a deadline of May 30th, 2026. Your deposit is fully refundable if we don’t reach our minimum of 6 confirmed guests — but we’re already close. Once the minimum is confirmed, it’s safe to go ahead and book your flights.
The remaining balance will be due by end of June 2026, paid separately via bank transfer.
